Biography

Stephanie Bucher studied singing at the Musikhochschule Cologne and the Amsterdam Conservatoire. She has sung and played on stage in Germany, Amsterdam and Switzerland:
Marzelline in ‘Figaro‘sWedding’, the Woodpecker in ‘The cunning vixen’ by L. Janacek in the theatres Solingen and Remscheidt, Tisbe in ‘La Cenerentola’ (G. Rossini) in the Yakulthalle/Oper Köln, Mädchen in ‚Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (K.Weill) in the Opera an het IJ in Amsterdam, at the Kammeroper Köln (Dritter Knabe, Zauberflöte) and at the Junges Musiktheater Hamburg (Erda, Flosshilde in ‘Der Ring’, an Opera breve after R.Wagner).

Stephanie Bucher regularly appears in Oratorios (Christmas oratorio) and Recitals (Schubert, Handel) as well as in crossover projects like ‘Songs and Dances about Life and Death’, a DanceTheatreProject with dancers from the dance academy of Amsterdam and a pianist.

Important musical and artistic impulses she acquired from John Streets, Heidi Raymond, Michel Kiener, Margreet Honig, Jakob Stämpfli, Anooshah Goleshorki and Kurt Widmer.
